About Sulo Moorthy

Born and raised in the East across the globe in a tiny island called Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) and having a science degree in Chemistry and worked in the research field, Sulo Moorthy never would have dreamed of becoming a writer.

After moving to Canada three decades ago and raising her two daughters as a stay-at-home mom, her interest in creating new recipes and delighting her family made her want to write a cookbook. But she did not know how to write a book. With the encouragement of her family, she ventured to enroll on a correspondence course for creative writing at age 50.

After leaving college, she had not done any writing other than letter writing. As such, following the writer’s course and writing assignments presented a challenge at the beginning. But being a voracious reader from childhood and her ability to write great essays that got praises and won writing contests in high school revitalized her gift of writing and to finish her course with high grades.

By the time she finished her course, her interest in writing the cookbook waned from her mind. Instead, her passion for the Lord made her to choose to write inspirational articles and devotional column for the Christian market.

After moving to the US a decade ago, Sulo Moorthy’s writing was confined to blog posting and journal writing. Lately, she had published a book titled, In His Presence-A Collection of Devotional poems and a short memoir titled Tidbits of Memories. In the recent years, her interest extended to acrylic painting . Her paintings could be viewed on her Facebook page-Sulo Moorthy Artworks.facebook.com. She resides with her husband in North Carolina, USA.

Sulo Moorthy has lived long enough to learn to never to take life for granted. She believes each day is a gift from God and what we do with the day will be our gift to God. Living with gratitude is something she abide by and she encourages her readers to grasp the concept through her writings.
